Fermented Lemonade

This is one of my all-time favorite drinks, especially in the summertime, I just love lemons, this is one of those things I could not live without it...

Ingredients

  • Half gallon of good purified water

  • 6 Lemons squeezed

  • ½ cup of whey or Water Kefir

  • ½ cup of raw sugar or sugar cane.

  • 1tbs ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Pour all the ingredients in a mason jar. And add half gallon water, fill up all the away. Mix well when you close the jar. Shake it really good.

  2. Let it ferment in a dark place for 2-3 days. If it’s warm, go for two days. Three days will ferment more of the sugar, it will be a little sourer. Again, it depends on how you like it. If you like it sourer, let it ferments for a longer period of time.

  3. Drain it  and put it in a bottle. Put the lid on and store it in the refrigerator. The longer it sets, it builds up a better flavor.

  4. Keep it in the refrigerator for a week. You can add strawberries if in season, pairs really well. Enjoy and be healthy!
